Cooperstown Central School District

Cooperstown Central School District covers all or parts of five towns in north-central Otsego County, New York, including Hartwick, New York. The school is a Silver Medal Award winner from U.S. News high school rankings with an 85% graduation rate. GreatSchools.org ranks Cooperstown Central School District 8 of 10 on its ranking scale.

Cooperstown Central School District has an elementary school and a junior and senior high school in two separate buildings on a scenic campus on the southern edge of the Village of Cooperstown. Top-ranked academics; lively arts and cultural programming; and a highly successful interscholastic athletics program are part of a comprehensive, community-backed educational system that educates 894 students in grades K-12, as of April 3, 2017.

The Cooperstown Central School District is a partnership of students, parents, teachers, staff and all other community members. The school’s mission is to provide a caring environment that motivates students to pursue individual excellence and to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for continual growth. Education at CCS shall foster an active curiosity, self-discipline, a positive attitude and compassion.
